Why support our work?

It is ten years since the Old Hall Barn in the centre of Dronfield was brought back to life. Neglected and weed-infested, the Grade II* listed structure was a classic case of heritage at-risk.

The £1.5million restoration project was completed in 2015 funded by a significant grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and kind donations from local businesses and members of the community. The Barn is now an award-winning Heritage, Cultural and Hospitality venue attracting over 50,000 visitors a year from around the country.

In 2025 we celebrated our ten year anniversary and to ensure the site remains open to the public for a further ten years, we’d welcome financial or in-kind support.

Why your help is so important

With your help we aim to raise £50,000 every year to maintain our work. The money you donate will be used to carry out essential refurbishment along with providing a wider range of education and community support programmes. We’d also like to develop a history and archaeology education programme, as well as expanding our family-friendly events.

The profit from our commercial activity – coffee shop, retail, and corpoarte hire are reinvested for the upkeep of the Barn.

Literally every penny counts for us. Whatever you are able to donate will make a difference.

How you can help. There are lots of ways to give.

  • Donate to the charity
  • Volunteer your skills to support our small staff team
  • Nominate us to be your company charity of the year
  • Get involved in fundraising activities on behalf of the Barn (we have lots of ideas we can share with you!)
  • Leave the charity a legacy in your will.

To discuss any of the above please contact Liz Snape, charity administrator: admin@dronfieldhallbarn.org
